Metered Parking Payment Options

Meters in the City of Charlottetown take dimes, quarters, loonies and toonies. Don't have coins? No problem!
The City of Charlottetown has introduced a metered parking payment option. As of Oct. 27, 2014, motorists can:

Use Hotspot Parking*

Download the HotSpot App for free or visit the website to create a user account with creditcard information. Pay for metered parking through the secured App or by texting Hotspot at: 902-201-0466.

HotSpot can:

  • warn users when time on the meter is about to expire;
  • be set for automatic meter top-ups through the App (up to the maximum amount of time allowed for the metered space);
  • and top up the meter via text messaging in one-hour increments (up to the maximum amount of time allowed for the metered space).

HotSpot technology is available through iOS, Android, or Text Messaging on any cell phone that has texting capabilities. HotSpot can be used with any major credit card or visa debit card. Payments are handled safely and securely through Stripe™

HotSpot users simply load their secured account through any major credit card or visa debit card and replenish the balance once it is used up. Hotspot uses the same fees charged by the City of Charlottetown for parking at a meter.

Want to learn more or download the HotSpot app? Visit: https://hotspotparking.com or call (toll-free): 1-855-712-5888

*There is service fee by HotSpot for the convenience of the payment method they offer – please see HotSpot for details: https://hotspotparking.com
