The City of Charlottetown encourages residents and visitors to take part in the various events during the PEI Pride Festival beginning Sunday, July 24.
With more than twenty events stretching over the last week of July, PEI now stages one of the main Pride festivals in Atlantic Canada, second only to Halifax in size and scope. PEI Pride Week begins on Sunday, July 24 with a Pride Church Service and continues throughout the week with several events including: Yoga in Victoria Park, Rainbow Bowling night, Inclusive Business Seminar and many other events.
Charlottetown City Hall will host a flag raising ceremony on Monday, July 25 at 11 a.m. followed by a Pride PEI Kick-Off BBQ in Rochford Square, lunch by donation. The festival will conclude on Saturday, July 30 with the annual PEI Pride Parade. The parade begins at 1 p.m. behind the government buildings and continues down Euston Street, turning right on to Great George Street, then on to Grafton Street, ending in Rochford Square. After the parade, Pride PEI will feature the annual Pride in the Park celebration, an all-ages party at Rochford Square.
