Fix a Leak Week takes take place March 19 to 25 and was designed to educate the public about the large quantity of water lost each year due to leaks in homes, businesses and infrastructure.

Leading up to Fix a Leak Week, post a photo or video of yourself or family member fixing a leak in their home using hashtag #IFixedALeak. Participants are automatically entered for a chance to win a low-flow toilet, valued at $300 (donated by EMCO). The deadline to enter is March 23. The winner will be announced on social media of the three municipalities on March 26: @ChtownPE, @StratfordPEI, @CornwallPE.
Weekly Prize Draws
Random prize draws through 'like and share' posts on the Be Water Friendly Facebook page will run each week with a draw taking place each Friday in March, beginning on March 9.
Leaks can account for, on average, 37,850 litres of water wasted in a home every year. Conserve water by checking your home for leaks and by repairing them as soon as possible.

The Low Income Financial and Technical (LIFT) program provides residents with the opportunity to have a residential water audit completed free of charge. The audit will help the homeowner find any leaks and will also determine if they qualify for a voucher for a low-flow toilet replacement. The program also includes the installation of in-home water saving devices, such as: a low-flow showerhead and a low-flow aerator for bathroom sinks.
